Eugeny Tkatchuk

Born July 23, 1984 in Ashkhabad (the Turkeman SSR) into the family of actor Valery Tkatchuk. When he was ten, the entire family moved to the town of Syzran (in the vicinity of Samara) where he spent six years with the Alexey Tolstoy Syzran drama theater. Simultaneously, he remained a pupil of school 23; still attending the 11th grade, he founded an amateur theater there. Having finished school in 2002 he moved to Moscow in order to enter the RATI Theater Institute (director department, actor section, Oleg Kudryashov"s class). His graduation was marked with a M.I.Tzarev Prize awarded by the Theater Union for successful beginning of acting career. Still a 4th-year student, he had been invited to participate as Hippolite in Andriy Zholdak"s project "Fedra. The golden Oar"; that part brought him the "MK Prize for the Best Debut". Presently, he works at the Moscow Youth Theater. Of all the parts performed there, the most noticeable ones seem to be the following: Timon (Dudarev, "The Dusk Has Come"), Shestakov (Sadur, "Bullfinches", "Convicts"), Talfibius (Evripides, "The Trojans"), a part in "Provincial anecdotes" by Vampilov. The part of soldier Andrew ("Alexandra" by Alexander Sokurov) was his first one in the movies. Mr.Tkatchuk said the following about the process of shooting: "Working in Chechnia was nothing special. I had been certain that that was the place where a movie about a war should be shot, and was ready to go".
