The art-director of the festival Thierry Fremaux announced that he is glad that “russian cinematograph, which has such great traditions, is coming back in the competitive programme of our 60th anniversary festival”. “An appearance of russian films at the screens in the competitive section is an evidence of the authentic revival of the russian cinematography, represented by two films: of venerable director Alexander Sokurov and Andrey Zvyagintsev a young, but already took action director”, - Fremaux said.
